Vision - Upper Itchen Benefice

As part of our Benefice
Mission Audit exercise,
the Upper Itchen Benefice
adopted the following
7 vision statements:

 

  1. United and Inclusive
    To continue to grow as a united Benefice church family, embracing and fostering diversity of worship and other expressions of Christian faith across the Benefice .

  2. Listening and Responsive
    To be alert to God.s call to service and mission in our Benefice. To support the outcome of the 2007/08 Mission Audit and to implement its recommendations. To proclaim the Good News with love.

  3. Bearing Witness: Proclaim the Good News with love, clearer unity and greater energy as a church, putting God and God's work back at the heart of the local church community

  4. Teaching and Nurturing
    To renew spiritual growth and prayer life at the heart of the church community. To focus on offering opportunities for all, to enable them to explore and deepen their faith whatever their starting point .


  5. Responding with Compassion
    To be a compassionate church responding to human need with love and service. To work to serve others and to offer a welcome space for all.


  6. Serving the Whole Community
    To use our skills and resources - human and physical - more effectively for the benefit of the local community. To make the church central to the life of each village.


  7. Open and Communicating Clearly
    To improve communication across the Benefice church community. To send a positive message to the wider village communities and beyond.
