Welcome to Kilmeston

St. Andrew’s is listed Grade II and was built in 1772 on the foundations of what the Domesday survey noted as annexed to Cheriton. Kilmeston has a range of families and retired village members who attend church. It has seating capacity for 100.

The village has been the centre, within the benefice, for a number of church projects. The Alpha Course and its various related courses have been run here in recent years. A family within the village has also run both the Marriage Course and Marriage Preparation Course regularly in the last three years. One house group of older parishioners meets in the village and another house group for contemporary worship, Bible study and extempore prayer is planned.

We are fortunate to have within the village a number of people who want to help finance the maintenance of the church building in the village, even though some of them are not church goers. It is for this group that the Friends of St Andrews was founded. The Friends hold two quizzes a year and a Christmas Bazaar. Funds raised go towards projects which help maintain the church building and keep it as a valued village resource.

Visiting

St Andrew's Church is open to visitors every day of the week.

Services & Worship

There are two monthly services - a Family Service and a Communion Service. At Christmas we hold a Christingle and Carol Service at which a village orchestra of children and adults play carols led by one of the Roman Catholic families in the village. Our services at most festivals attract 50/60 people which gives a clue as to how large our regular church population could be.
