The Hamlet of Hinton Ampner

Hinton Ampner was a large medieval parish which included much of what is now Bramdean village. In this vicinity its living ranked second only to Cheriton in terms of its importance and wealth.

The parish registers date back to 1561. Today, Hinton Ampner is a small hamlet. There are 17 on the electoral role. Thirteen live within the parish, four outside.
