NEW VCG TALKS

As part of our Upper Itchen Voluntary Care Group work, we are starting a series of talks locally by experts in the fields of community care, health care and other related fields. The first of these talks will be on:
Tuesday October 19th at 6.30 pm
Bramdean Village Hall

 The Manager of the Winchster Citizens' Advice Bureau (CAB) will talk on issues such as  debt, allowances for older people and carers, legal problems etc.  Approximately one hour talk, with questions and drinks afterwards. All very welcome.

Bishop Michael Meetings/Talks

'Seek first the Kingdom of God' - Our Church in the Diocese and in the Nation

A series of meetings will take place in the autumn at which Bishop Michael will speak about our Church, in the Diocese and in the nation, in these next years.

Together with the Area Deans and Island Deans, these meetings have been arrranged for the following dates, all starting at 7.30pm.

Thursday 21 October – Winchester and Alresford
at Holy Trinity, Winchester
Tuesday 5 October – Basingstoke
Thursday 7 October – Alton and Odiham
at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Four Marks

Bishop Michael says: "I should like to attract to these meetings as many as possible of those who worship with any regularity at all in our churches." He encourages every church to publicise the events on the theme of 'Seek first the Kingdom of God' - Our Church in the Diocese and in the Nation.

Bishop Michael plans to speak for about 35 minutes, there will be a 15-minute break for tea, coffee and and  informal discussion of what has offered, followed by questions for about 35 minutes. It is envisaged that the meetings will finish by 9pm. A document with the key areas will be available at the meeting and will be provided on the day.
